Play smart...learn how to play casino craps the right way!
Below is a sample chapter (Chapter 7: Dice Setting) of my book, The Secret to Craps: The Right Way to Play.  All other chapters are
written in the same easy-to-understand style, including the math portions.
My book is targeted to craps players of all experience
levels.
The what, how, and why in my book teaches game intricacies that even so-called experienced players seldom understand.  I
also include anecdotes that add to the fun of learning the secret to casino
craps and online craps.  Even experienced players will find
themselves eager to soak up every drop of knowledge in every chapter.
Whether you're a novice or an experienced player, this
book teaches you everything you need to know to be a knowledgeable player.
Instead of taking advantage of your get-rich-quick
dreams, this book tells it like it is.
Armed with facts instead of false hope, you'll be a strong weapon against the casino.  Craps
is easy.  Once you learn it, you'll realize it's as simple as blackjack, poker, or even
bingo.  The key is to learn to play craps in reality,
not in a Fantasyland of false hope.
Don't be a sap!
Don't get hoodwinked into believing that dice setting actually works!

We talked briefly in the last chapter about dice control and its absurdity.  Let's revisit the subject so you don't get duped into wasting
your money.  Dice setting is controlling
craps dice to increase the appearance of certain numbers and decrease the appearance of others
to increase your advantage and decrease the house advantage.

The Internet is a wonderful creation, but be you must careful with what you read.  A lot of websites advertise seminars and classes for
learning dice setting.  Some websites claim you can learn to consistently roll certain numbers.  Other smarter con artists claim, although
you cannot reliably role certain numbers, you can affect the outcome enough to change a small house advantage into a small advantage
for you.  Gambling authors have written and sold multiple books on the dice setting.  Do yourself a huge favor and don't fall for these
ridiculous claims.

Who makes up the silly mumbo-jumbo that you read on other websites?  Who believes it?  Apparently, people do believe it or these
websites wouldn't exist.  They claim dice setting is a skill you can learn.  That is, you can learn it only if you pay them a lot of money.
They get you excited about beating the casino for gobs of money with their carefully chosen words and pictures explaining how to
throw the dice and make them land on a certain number so you'll win.  Let's look at some of these silly claims a little closer.

"Craps can be beaten!"  Yes, it can be beaten.  Any moron using any weird system can win.  The question is
will the system consistently
win?  If you win one session out of 1000, then you can say you beat the game--but it's in terms of only that one session.  The questions
is, will you have more or less money in my pocket over the long-term?  You'll definitely have less.  No combination of craps bets and bet
amounts will consistently win over the long-term.  (We discuss so-called "winning systems" in a later chapter.)  Additionally, as
explained below, I believe that no crazy dice-setting technique will consistently win over time.

"Dice control specialists."  What criteria are used to measure the so-called skill of these shysters?  What skill level warrants the title
"specialist?"  Some websites say their dice-setting instructors are "certified."  What's the authority that does the certification (that is,
what is the certifying organization and what are its credentials)?  Don't fall for the "certified specialist" nonsense they claim on other
websites.

"Release the craps dice on their axis and hit their sweet spots every time."  What?  Do they even know what a sweet spot is?  A sweet
spot is the spot on a bat, club, or racket where the vibration from the impact of a ball is canceled out, so the hitter doesn't feel any
stinging or shaking.  So, what is the sweet spot on a die?  What does hitting a die's sweet spot do?
Craps dice, with their sharp angles
and points, must travel at the exact same speed and distance, follow the exact same trajectory, and land at the exact same angle to have a
consistent bounce off the tabletop.  Hitting their sweet spots has negligible impact on affecting their bounce and resulting outcome.  If
everything isn't exactly the same, the bounce is totally random.  You must also consider temperature and humidity because they affect
the flight path of the dice after you throw them.  Even the precise location of where the dice contact the tabletop has an impact on the
way they bounce because the tabletop likely has subtle differences in bounce characteristics because of the tightness of the felt, varying
density of the tabletop material, and other factors.  The slightest deviation from the desired flight path or orientation will cause a slight
change in the angle at which the dice hit the tabletop, which will result in a random bounce.  The, after the dice bounce off the table, you
must then control how they hit the back wall.  The dice must hit the rubber spikes (a.k.a. pyramids) on the back wall at exactly the same
angles and speeds to consistently get the results you want.

For a mere $300 or $400, so-called "certified" instructors will teach you all the various sets and grips for rolling craps dice to reliably
influence a craps decision.  They ought take their crazy claims a step further and say that their Master Yodas can teach you to use the
Force, too.  It's sad and it's a shame, but people do, indeed, believe this craziness.

Not only do they sell lessons on how to toss craps dice, some also sell practice boxes, too.  Woohoo!  If you pay $400 for a seminar,
they'll include a practice box for the incredibly low price of only $299.  Woohoo!  Where's my checkbook?
