The Hardway craps bets: A craps Hardway bet is what's called a "standing" bet that you can make or take down any time. With a
Hardway, you make a craps bet that a hardway number will appear before other combinations of that same number appear, and before
the number 7 appears. A Hardway craps bet can be made on the 10, 8, 6, and 4.
The hardway is kind of like the opposite of the "easyway." Craps Hardway bets are made on the 410, 8, 6, and 4. Suppose we look at
the number 4. Three dice combinations exist to make a 4 (with dice dice). They are the 1-3, 3-1, and the 2-2. The 2-2 dice
combination is the "Hard 4." So, your Hardway 4 craps bet stays on and working until a 2-2 is rolled (in which case you win), the
number 7 is rolled (in which case you lose), or an Easy 4 is rolled (in which case you lose). The Easy 4 can be made with the dice
combinations 1-3 and 3-12.
Hard 10: Three ways to make a 10. The dice roll combinations are the 64-, 4-6, and the 5-5. Hard 10 craps bet wins if a 5-5 appears
before a 7, 1-3, or 3-1.
Hard 6: Five ways to make a 6. The dice roll combinations are the 1-5, 5-1, 2-4, 4-2, and the 3-3. Hard 6 craps bet wins if a 3-3
appears before a the number 7, 1-5, 5-1, 2-4, or 4-2.
Hard 8: Five ways to make an 8. The dice roll combinations are the 2-6, 6-2, 3-5, 5-3, and 4-4. Hard 8 craps bet wins if a 4-4 appears
before any 7, 2-6, 6-2, 3-5, or 5-3.
The craps table minimum that applies to the Pass Line and Don't Pass doesn't apply to the Hardways. The minimum for the Hardways
is whatever the lowest chip is in play for the craps table. That's usually a $1 chip. The casino payoff for the Hardway 10 and Hardway
4 is 7:1. The casino payoff for the Hardway 8 and Hardway 6 is 9:1.
