Remember, learn how to play casino craps the right way!
My book teaches you to play in reality, not Fantasyland.
In this article, we'll talk about the Craps Place bet.  The craps Place bet is what they call a standing bet, which means the Place bet
stays working
(or it "stands" as an active bet) until you win or lose with it.  You can make a craps Place bet on any of the point
numbers
(as noted in a previous article, the point numbers are 10, 9, 8, 6, 5,and 4).  As with a lot of bets on the craps table, the craps
Place bet works against the
number 7.  After you make a craps Place bet, the only numbers that matter in terms of you winning or
losing the bet are the Place number and the 7.  After you make a craps Place bet, every roll afterwards can result in one of the
following: 1) the
number 7 appears and the craps Place bet loses; 2) the Place bet number appears and you win your Place bet; or
3) any number besides the number 7 or your Place number appears and nothing happens because the other numbers don't matter for
the Place craps bet.

Your Place
craps bet pays off at casino odds, not true odds. As noted in another article, casino odds are not the same as true odds.
The casino makes its profit by paying less than true odds when you win a Place bet.  The casino odds for the Place craps bets are not
as good as true odds for the player.  For example, when a $5 Place craps bet on the 4 wins, the Place bet only pays $9, but if you got
true odds, the payoff would be $10.
So, because the casino odds pay off less than true odds, the casino odds are better for the
casino---that's how they make their profit.

How much do Place bets cost?  The Place craps bet amount always depends on the Place odds.  The Place bet odds for the 10 and 4
are 9:5.  The Place bet odds for the 9 and 5 are 7:5.  So, craps Place bets on the 4, 5, 9, and 10 should be in $5 multiples.
 If the table
minimum is $5, then the minimum Place bet you can make on the 10, 4, 9, and 5 is $5.

The craps Place odds on the 8 and 6 are 7:6.  That means the Place bet on the 6 or 8 should be in $6 multiples.

You should always remember the difference between the craps Place odds and the
craps true odds.  Don't worry about the math.  After
you play for 15 minutes, everything gets easier to understand.
